Whiteout

Three days of slow moving and unrelenting rain predicted by the National Weather Service dramatically morphs into a blizzard of epic proportion as a polar vortex rapidly moves south from the Arctic Circle. Overnight temperatures plummet fifty degrees and lock Western New York State in a deep freeze. Lake effect snow is added and thousands are trapped in the freakish late November weather anomaly which becomes the storm of the century. Everything happens quickly and scores of hunters and Thanksgiving commuters are caught unaware and unprepared. An entire high school football team disappears and a man, having recently murdered a prominent underworld figure, desperately attempts to evade capture. The lives of people stranded become unpredictably intertwined with strangers as they all struggle to survive. Law enforcement officers and snow removal crews battle exhaustion and are pushed beyond the levels of endurance in their efforts to combat the emergency conditions. For some, help will come too late...for others it will become a Thanksgiving to remember.
