Academy Award winner Sophia Loren (1961, Best Actress, Two Women) stars as a young woman who loses her lover in an oil field accident in Libya. Brokenhearted, she becomes a nun, known as Sister Germana. Returning to Italy, she becomes an administrator of an unconventional hospital where a Marxist patient, Annibale (Adriano Celentano, La Dolce Vita), seems to have the run of the place; counseling doctors, administering cures and romancing nurses. What follows is an unusual relationship between a nun who is trying to do what is right and a man who feels that he already is. In Italian with English subtitles. Newly remastered.
