Here is the historically accurate novel of a 14th century, young native American girl, White Hare, and her coming of age. The book is colorfully vivid. Her femininity is handled so smoothly, so matter-of-factly, and with such sensitivity by Ms. Spinka. Parents of pubescent children would do well to read this, and to keep it handy for the children to read.
