Not only is the ranch dealing with the drought, wolves and a rogue grizzly bear; but far more sinister forces seem to be in play. When his best friend is savagely killed, Cole stumbles upon a clue that could locate a lost gold mine that had only been rumored to exist. Stories are whispered about a dark presence that makes even the toughest ranch hands uneasy and the harder he digs, the more entangled Cole becomes in a world full of secrecy, deceit, and murder.
