Whispering Smith is an American Western series that aired on NBC. Using the same title as the 1948 Alan Ladd movie and the novel by Frank H. Spearman from which that film derived, this series stars Audie Murphy as Tom "Whispering" Smith, a police detective in Denver, Colorado. Filming of the series began in 1959, but it did not air until May 8, 1961. This much sought-after series can boast great stories and even greater acting by its star Audie Murphy.
