German intelligence officer John Hoffmen carries with him Hitler's French invasion plans for Wehrmacht Panzer generals. Unknowingly he has another secret that will shorten the war. The French want him dead and to recover these secrets. Injured, John takes refuge with a Belgian farmer Remy and family friend Martha a Jew. As John's newfound faith grows, God begins speaking to him and guiding him and Martha through their escape and the beginning of WWII. Conflicted with his feelings for Sarah - John's fianc , John now has growing feelings for Martha. Obsessed with the search for looted diamonds, murderous Inspector Le Fleming needs Martha to find them and will stop at nothing to get them. As Germany continues their attack, they squeeze the retreating Allied soldiers against the English Channel at Dunkirk. Escape appears imminent, as John and Martha wait for their evacuation in the flight of the little ships.
