Faith Brewington is a Southern girl raised on her father's southern plantation in Georgia. Her mother died when she was a young girl. Due her father's untimely early death, she has been raised by her Uncle and an old sea Capitan friend of her fathers. With no mother, she has learned to use a bullwhip, shoot a pistol with a very fast draw, and takes all of the money at the local turkey shoots, with her rifle. Her cousin traveled to New Mexico in search of a different life and married a Texas Ranger. Julie's mother died and the attorney needs to get a message to cousin Julie. Faith has grown up with the son of a slave who is only four feet tall but has developed serious skills with the African throwing club called a Rangu and other weapons and fighting skills. Faith decides she will travel to New Mexico to find her cousin and enlists the company of her slave friend. They meet the handsome Cody Patton along the way and all agree to travel to New Mexico together. Outlaws, Indians and wolves intervene to make their lives more difficult and cause Faith to use all of her skills to stay alive.
