An absolute must for counselors and/or survivors.

This book was recommended in response to my exact question. This book not only provides some very precise insight into the problems that survivors face, but also the reasons why survivors find little to no comfort in the common church settings.The author has an incredible gift at presenting word images in such a fashion, that you can not help but to see yourself in light of those needs. With sample prayers at the end of each chapter, this book was a wonderful tool to aide in the return to a Heavenly Father who is longing to embrace His child.I have loaned this book to several friends, and will continue to recommend it. I would love to see more books from this author.

A healing book! Inspired by the comforting Holy Spirit!

This is the first book that I have found that truly understands and does not judge those who have been hurt, abused during childhood and cannot trust. The author shows compassion and true understanding which is very difficult to find within Christian books. Sadly, most Christian books and many counselors judge the issue of trust to purely be lack of submission and fail to recognize the root of the problem. They come across as callous, judgmental and drive people from God rather than help people genuinely heal and learn God's ways. This book is different. The love and understanding of God and the author permeates every page. It leads the reader on a path toward genuine healing. It truly helps the person's faith and trust in God grow. It is a gentle, loving how to book. It moves step by step through the process of healing, learning trust and submission.I believe it should be part of any ministry of healing for abused people, victims of violence or abandonment in childhood!
