Where The Trees Talked

By Magdalena Mos

Book Overview

After Magdalena's family leave Nigeria escaping the growing civil unrest, she has no reason to believe she will ever return. Yet 10 years later she is back, this time with a whimsical boyfriend who outperforms himself at impeding all her efforts at staying sane in the face of Africa's endearing challenges. In an alarming backdrop of anarchy and chaos, where civil unrest is the norm and where armed robbers enthusiastically patrol the streets, Magdalena and Harry weave their own path of sanity and survival against the odds. After ten years in Nigeria, the couple travels to Zanzibar and Tanzania on an unforgettable honeymoon where Harry, true to his nature, is the victim of a series of bizarre events. This is the story of Magdalena's hilarious journey of self-discovery, revelation, and a slow descent into a convivial African sanity, where she will emerge, ten years later, a changed and stronger woman.
