This is in my top 20 books and top 5 of my childhood favorites

I loved the main character’s, Billy’s, commitment and determination to work hard for something that he knew would fulfill his life, the dogs. I also loved its vivid description of the outdoors and time period. The best part of this book is the relationship between Billy and his hounds as well as the relationship between the dogs. It’s a tearjerker. Like old yeller.
