Heartfelt Prose

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. What a pleasure to lose one's self into stories of transformation and transcendence. I felt my heart lifted at the end of each essay and a renewed sense of belief in the triumph of the human spirit. There is so much here. Each essay spoke to so many different areas of experience that are going on in my life. I got chills reading about David's adventures in Peru. I cried as I identified with the longing and honoring of his father, having lost my dad young as well. I gained a new perspective about authentic friendship from his lid illustration and I was thankfully reminded about the necessity of creating balance in my life in his chapter titled Taming the Tempo. Where Regret Cannot Find Me is a welcomed addition in my classic spiritual library.

Full of Grit and Grins

I think this is a gutsy book. Don't usually say that about a spiritual book but I just find this one unique in the way it deals with everyday subjects. Was really caught up in the stories and found myself getting concrete answers for what I'm going through in my own life. It was also easy and enjoyable to read. The "grin" part is because I found myself laughing out loud a few times.

Masterful Guidance

"Where Regret Cannot Find Me" FOUND me and I am forever grateful. This beautiful, poetic, heart-felt book spoke to my soul in a way that no other book of this genre has in a long, long time. Granted, it didn't hurt that I saw this beautiful man in my area of Pennsylvania first, captivating my heart with his ability to speak so beautifully but to write that way as well is so dear. I feel that he is a much needed gift for our world. I felt I was on a journey with him, page after page, repeatedly uttering, "yes, I know" or "of course- now it all makes sense" as I read the joys and trials of a man committed to his spiritual path and willing to expose his heart so vulnerably. A little bit of Peace Pilgrim mixed with Dave Berry and topped off with zen-like comfort. I feel that "Where Regret Cannot Find Me" is a must for every person who is committed to BEING a spiritual light in this world as opposed to just talking about it.

Wonderful!

Brilliantly tender, insightful and moving. David Ault has captured my heart with his wonderful prose. The opening chapter on sorrow and regret made me a bit uncomfortable. I didn't realize how much I didn't want to go there. Yet, because he did and came out the other side wiser, I thought I might as well try. It is sort of like turning around and facing the beasts in medieval lore as he mentioned in his questions after each essay. Once you face them, their ominous energy dissapates and your left to explore places where regret no longer has much energy or control. This book is a traveling companion to great spiritual freedom.

Inspiring !

This work is inspiring and I can relate many of the stories to my own life situations. It is easy to read and is a great bedside book as the chapters are short and serve as reminders of ways to strive to live life. Many good wishes to David on the book and in life.
