An anthology of 22 poems by a retired Royal Navy Able Seaman, who had signed on at 16, from school. After 15 years service, much of it spent at sea collecting memories and impressions of human achievements, emotions, relationships and behaviour, he came ashore. Since then he has worked as a postman, labourer and latterly an independent builder, assessing the world around him and its changes. In this book he has condensed many of his experiences and thoughts into verbal pictures, in simple language, that express the spirit of not only people but of the environment, the seasons, events happy and sad; of music that he's loved and even of flowers and vegetables, their role in our lives. This little book offers an emotional collection of readable and inspiring poetry by an ordinary working man.
