This children's book is a fictional story based on a true story about the origin of a village in Kerala, India named Kumbanad "land of the elephants". The author was inspired by the oral tradition that was passed down to her by her father. She is sharing a spiritual quest which led to building a community with an imagined character (Leima the elephant) alongside real characters (Yohanan Sanyasi and Kochu Esau) to inspire youth to talk to their elders, learn about their roots, and reflect on how their ancestors and nature may be influencing them in the present moment.
