Mavis Amelia Mann, a think tank consultant, and her cow Lottie Jean live a harmonious life in a village on the edge of the Atlantic seacoast. They ease through the day with affection for each other and the world at large, especially a gentleman farmer named Cyrus Gant who finds them both charming additions to his spare but rich life.
