In the beginning, God created man and placed him in the Garden of Eden. Ten years later, God allowed the demonic creature, Satan, to enter the garden. And Satan did so with the evil intent to cause man to disobey and go against God's commandments. Though Adam and Eve had the ability to overcome Satan's lies, nonetheless, they did fall prey to those lies! And by doing so, they violated God's eighth commandment against stealing )Exodus 20:15 and Deuteronomy 5:19). Therefore, the ten commandments existed from the beginning; contrary to popular belief that the law did not exist until Mount Sinai, this prohibition against eating the forbidden fruit proves that the law exists from the beginning of humanity's creation. Because of their disobedience, God sentenced mankind to six thousand years of being bound to Satan's mind control.
