When You Were Only A Prayer is a poetic testimony of a mother's prayer to have a baby, and our Heavenly Father's love to answer. The words and pictures show the special bond between a mother and child. The illustrations of animal mothers and babies are included to promote conversations with children about the bond in nature as well. The text has an emphasis on rhyming words.

Sherry Reece is a retired educator of 30 years. She taught first grade throughout her calling as a teacher. Reading and writing were her favorite subjects to teach. One of her goals in retirement has been to write and publish her work, with the hopes of inspiring others.
Sherry received her A.A. Degree from Emmanuel College, B. S. and M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education from Brenau College.
She is married and has one daughter.
