Isabel is a widow for four years, previously married to famous tennis player Sam Winter, who died in a plane crash over the Atlantic while returning from a tournament in Spain. Isabel never dated in all that time until she met Jack, who crashed into Isabel's car. Their attraction was instant; however, Isabel thought she would never see him again.

The day after the accident, at a board meeting, he was presented to the board members and their PAs as the company's new CEO. Wanting to get Jack out of her head, she started to date William, a university professor. However, the attraction between Isabel and Jack continued to grow, and Jack would do anything to get Isabel.
