A coloring book depicting appreciation and respect for the "puppy-love" phase of childhood I was smitten early: age 6, 1st grade; her name was Sheree Morgan; and with all my effort to get her attention, she wanted nothing to do with me. Out of desperation to win her favor I decided to take a jeweled bracelet my sister won as a prize from a bubble-gum machine - and give it to Sheree.
Nervously while at school recess I called out that I had a present for her. Reluctantly she skipped over: smiled, and her eyes lit up as she eyed the bracelet. In a quick instant she looked at me with a pleasing acknowledgement, said "Oh, thank you." Then skipped back to play with her friends.
Yes, it comes at you so quickly - this urge of attraction; and what is it that one wouldn't do at this tender age to win favor with the boy or girl of their affection.
