When We Evolve

Fifteen year old Taren Kempton is just days away from being tested for whether or not she's Evolved, the more advanced people humans are becoming. As the daughter of the leader of Savia, the planet people fled to when climate change made Earth inhabitable, no one thinks she's at risk for testing to be Evolved. But when she tests positive, she's faced with an option to either accept the harsh laws that would end up executing her, or to try to escape. When Taren discovers she is among the Evolved, she thinks her life is over. But she manages to escape and, with help, discovers that people went back to Earth and created a safe haven for the Evolved. But like most good things in dystopian fiction, it doesn't last long.
