When the Firebirds Died

One of the NFL's expansion teams, the Portland Firebirds, had become the most famous team in football history. They had gone from being the worst team in the league, and in just a few years, became the most dominant team, to ever play the game. In three-hundred years of NFL football, they were the first to win twenty consecutive Super Bowls. Not until the starters from those twenty years of winning, started to retire did any other teams in the league even stand a chance against them. Nearly sixty years after their dominance is over, a new problem suddenly arose. Of that original sixty-five man roster, over half of them, are being killed off, one at a time. Spread across the world, and the different locations the former players had retired to, the FBI is baffled as to why someone would want a bunch of men, nearly a hundred years old to die. Calling in their top agent, who is near retirement himself, Frank Morrell, has the knack for finding the odd things at murder scenes that most would over-look. As he finds clues and starts to close in on the serial killer, the rate of deaths starts to speed up also. A race against time, to try and catch the killer, before the last Firebird is killed.
