An Old Man recalls a film about Alvin Straight, a man of is age, who rode a lawn mower across two states to reconcile with his stricken brother, 'before it's too late.' Along the way a Young Man asked Straight, 'What's the worst part about being old?' Straight's answer: 'the worst thing of being old is remembering what it was being young.' That sets off an extended debate in the mind of the Old Man. He brings his questions about memory and aging to a Sunday family dinner, but his family haven't lived long enough to appreciate Straight's 'worst thing.' So, the Old Man sets out to test Straight's proposi-tion about aging against what he remembers of his youth, before it's too late.
