Jerry Fletcher is a down-on-his luck Los Angeleno who relocated to Las Vegas after a run-in with the authorities in Los Angeles. After one year of living in Las Vegas, he decides to take a one-day hiking trip with some of his co-workers in a secluded canyon on the outskirts of Las Vegas, but he is mysteriously transported to an alien spaceship. There he learns that much of Judeo-Christian religion was actually provided by the helping hand of alien angels. Fletcher is also told that there is ongoing alien war between two factions for control of Earth and that this war has been going on for thousands of Earth years. With this explanation, pondering the confusing dilemma between what the prophets have said and what the past and present clerics interpreted, Fletcher is subsequently sent back to Earth to prophetically explain his new knowledge of our present politics and religion. The government gets wind of Fletcher's attempt to speak about the aliens, so when the government tries to stop his speech, a riot breaks out which then quickly leads to a revolt by the American people against the corrupt government of President Halliburton and the Christian Right. The revolt erupts into a civil war. And because of Fletcher's speech in Las Vegas, which was carried via the Internet, uprisings and massive change suddenly take on a global scale. The Civil War in America becomes a war between the so-called "Blue and Red" states with the government allied with the "Red" and the "Blue" supported by the Liberators allied by the Canadians. The war comes to an end with major battles in Las Vegas near Nellis Air Force Base and Pennsylvania. The United States is split into two with the Southern States ceding from the Union. After liberation of America with the help of Canada, Fletcher becomes a Senator from California. A year later during a Fletcher's commemorative speech in Las Vegas, the Aliens of the LIGHT descend upon the stage establishing and acknowledging a new order of peace,

Normally, I read the Bible, books based on the Bible or books written for motivating me in life in general. His book at first made me nervous due to the title. But after reading it I realized the subject of Angels considered aliens was very unique and quite entertaining. Picking it up night after night, I found that it was simply hard to put down. Even the way he spelled G-D w/ a space fascinated me. All I can say in a nutshell: Great Author! Great Book!
Pleasantly Surprised

Politics and Religion. Aliens and Angels. Two sets of words rarely written in the same sentence, let alone book, without the risk of sounding "extreme". Two sets of words, two subjects in this book, that take the reader everywhere he/she expects not to go. Pleasantly surprising and rather exciting to ponder the possibilities written. Major world-changing events coupled with an underlying romance plot make this a very different and diverse story to read. The author portrays the state of humanity (rather accurately I'd like to think) were these sort of events to unfold. Going into detail people's thoughts and emotions as if he himself had experienced them. At 140 pages, Where The Angels Have Risen does not "drag on", achieving what some 1200 page books the reviewer has read cannot. Proving that "It's not the quantity, but the quality".
A Different View of the Nonexistent Separation of Church and State.

November 3, 2005 A Different View of the Nonexistent Separation of Church and State. Author Andrew Feder paints a vivid and humorous picture of a society that erupts into a civil war due to a "difference of religious opinion." Our main character, Jerry Fletcher, has moved to Las Vegas, Nevada to escape from a life that has spun out of control. Social issues and legal issues make him a rather bitter man who resents the government due to the legal persecution that he has faced. He and a few of his co-workers, who themselves comprise a rather diverse and spirited group; take off on a relaxing camping trip. While exploring his surroundings, Jerry is "abducted" by an alien life-form and taken to an alien spaceship. The aliens have chosen him, for one reason or another, to become a prophet of sorts and have trusted him with important information about Christianity and that alien race's involvement with the planet's spiritual development. Jerry returns to the planet's surface and has the duty of relaying what he has been taught. The ideas that he express go against the grain of the governments' beliefs and he then becomes a "threat." A revolution against the government has been spawned with Fletcher as a figurehead on one side versus President Halliburton and his administration on the other. It seems that a heated religious debate has become the cause of massive civil unrest and separation. The names, places, events and people should seem familiar to you. History is filled with thinkers, prophets, messengers and philosophers who may see things differently for a variety of reasons, but the way they are treated is usually the same. They have to be silenced before a change occurs and offsets the top-heavy establishment that would prefer that things be left alone. When the Angels Have Risen is a vivid and well-planned satire. I've read the work of other political satirists and the message, however muted by details and fictitious events, will cause a mental chain reaction. You will analyze and then ask yourself questions that you may not have even pondered beforehand. This, in my opinion, is what every book should strive to do - make you ask questions and analyze the answers. Tyrone V. Banks

Genre: Fiction Title: When the Angels have Risen AUTHOR: Andrew Feder Jerry Fletcher is a modern day cynic whose encounters with government agencies and the law have left him bitter and anti-establishment. He moves to Las Vegas in search of a new life but what he finds is mind- boggling. A routine hike in the canyon turns into an encounter of the strangest kind; Jerry is abducted by aliens. These are not little green men with antennas in their heads but intelligent, mystical beings that inform Jerry of the battle of Good versus Evil that has been going on for centuries on Earth. Our very curious yet skeptical hero learns how these beings have provided the original Judeo-Christian teachings as well as introducing the Hebrew and Egyptian languages amongst other astonishing things. He is instructed to return to earth and inform the millions. Needless to say he returns to earth an altered man and unintentionally begins what can only be described as a modern day American/World Revolution. Anyone that has ever wondered whether the government's agenda and the religious orders of the world are on the side of good or evil or questioned the motives of big corporations will thoroughly enjoy this novel. Feder's characters are realistic with all the human frailties and foibles imaginable. His theory of how the American people would react to a revolution of this magnitude is well thought out and logical. Readers will easily grasp the possibility of such a civil war. This book mixes humor, politics, science fiction, religion and a spattering of romance into a blend of excitement and intrigue that will keep the reader turning pages until the end. The author has had many professions, all of which have contributed to this his first novel. This reviewer awaits his next work with anticipation. A highly recommended read for those that are looking for humor mixed with modern day `Michael Moore' style political fiction. Reviewer: Shirley Roe, Allbooks Reviews.
