When Jailbirds Sing: A YA Contemporary Romance

By: Galltier, Adrian

They met in juvie. They hated each other instantly.

But music has a way of bringing people together.

Ricky Ortega never wanted to take his father's place as leader of Los Asesinos. All he wanted was to become the next '80s-style pop icon. He was planning on bringing REO Speedwagon, Bon Jovi, and Tiffany into the 21st Century. You can't be a big pop star if you're in a gang. But one violent night shatters everything, and gets him locked up.

Claire Conrad would do anything to protect her little brothers, even if that meant hurting someone she knew and landing behind bars. What did she throw away? A shot at Juilliard and a future in composing music for cinematic masterpieces.

When the two of them cross paths in the juvie cafeteria, a rivalry full of mean pranks ignites. They purposefully humiliate each other, shout, and even throw food. Little do they know that they've found something special within each other.

They're already at odds. Will their dark pasts, crazy cellmates, and obnoxious guards pull them apart even further?
