When Dovie Sings

While this work of fiction is by no means a reflection of my grandmother's life, hearing the many stories about her life that she shared with me through the years did inspire me to write this fictional novel. Incidentally, my grandmother's first and middle names were Dovie Esther.
This is a story about a young girl, named Dovie, growing up in the early 1900s in a family that was materialistically poor but very wealthy in the important things in life-peace, love and joy-resulting from their relationships with the Lord, their family members and their community at large.
