There is an old adage which states "when a door closes, another opens." Is it true? Lucy Barnes life irrevocably changed the morning her husband Jim died suddenly of an aneurysm. After twenty five years of marriage she is shocked to learn that he had a separate life she was unaware of. The shocks keep coming as she learns he was gay, in a committed relationship with another man, deeply in debt and she is responsible for their repayment. In order to pay his creditors she must sell her home. Unprepared and ill equipped Lucy struggles to build a new life. Encouraged by her boss Clare she joins a local bereavement group.
