Oliver Twist grew up and is now a surgeon, aged 28 in London 1855. Many years before, Oliver was taken in by the Brownlow family where he received an expensive education and qualified as a medical practitioner. However, after the death of his wife and a bar brawl fueled by gin, he contemplates suicide by the Thames. Oliver notices a beautiful lady by the foreshore and is intrigued when she drops a strange pendant and leaves in a Hansom cab. But this was not a coincidence. Events lead Oliver on a trek to discover Fagin's treasure. He is accompanied by Jack Dawkins who is now trained as a British secret agent; Pia, who is Fagin's illegitimate daughter and also an agent, and Oliver's servant, Mango Claggage. Mango is a simple man, who is a kleptomaniac but also a brilliant mimic. Oliver treats Mango terribly throughout their journey and yet it is Mango who inadvertently saves the day on many occasions.
