Organized, thorough and thought-provoking. This IS the best.

My brother in law drove over to my house in a snowstorm, late at night, to give me this book. I didn't believe it COULD be true. However, I have researched it extensively since that time and have come to the conclusion that it's much better to be prepared for the worst and not have needed to do it than to have needed to prepare and have not done so. Julian Gregori, whether or not you agree with all of his beliefs, has provided the most comprehensive "checklist" of any one person or resource that I have found. I purchased a dozen copies of this book and have handed them out to other members of my family and close friends. Mr. Gregori has helped me realize that the possible consequences of NOT preparing are simply not an option for myself and my loved ones. He is organized and thoughtful in his preparedness checklist. He gives specific names, phone numbers, addresses to help you. By far it is the best book on the subject that I have read.

An intelligently written book on y2k.

Although I have researched the y2k problem now for over 5 months and have become somewhat informed and articulate on the matter, I still found it difficult to convince my friends and family to prepare for what may become, to say the least, a major change in their lives. I soon realized that by giving them this book to read, they have become very responsive and are readily making preparations. The book can be read in one sitting and is very intelligently written. Put it on your y2k list of books to read.

Without a doubt...A must read book!

A harsh reality of events to come is sometimes hard to accept. For example, maybe a hurricane or tornado heading your way with little time to prepare can leave you wondering the outcome of your future. This book for the most part spells it out plainly and clearly. Time.....something we now have very little of remaining to prepare. Being a prudent individual at this time may be good advice. His book states many possibilities and scenario's worth considering!

We are in the process of building a "millenniumneighborhood" - essentially a Y2K safe haven in NE Georgia calledMoonRising. As soon as I finished reading this book I picked up the phone and called the publishers to discuss promotional reprints of the book sponsored by our Y2K project. We like the way Gregori synthesized the practical issues surrounding Y2K without being unduly alarmist or a doomsayer. If I were to publish a Y2K guide, this is pretty much what I would have done (although I would probably have left out the "Christian pastor" push - this is everybody's problem). Other books currently on the market do not supply the same information in the concise manner in which Gregori presents it.

If you buy only one Y2K book----buy this one!

Sit down in a comfortable chair, have on the end table an empty cup, a thermos of coffee, - and in your hands - this book. You'll finish the 235 pages before the coffee runs out. You'll gulp the last bit the coffee pondering the statistical and highly researched facts that you've just read, returning the empty thermos to your kitchen, all the while soberly planning the survival techniques you will put into place before the end of 1999. It's been called "The book that could save your life" - and it could!
