The historical Jesus and early Christians also fall into this category to some extent. Although they were just one Jewish community among many others, and a very small one at first, they were crucial to the development of Israel and Judaism. The crucifixion of Jesus, which was viewed by some as the advent of God's salvation on earth and ultimately resulted in the celebration of death and resurrection, marks the beginning of his story. Through the canonical and apocryphal gospels, however, such a biography did not become a complete record of Jesus' life until the late first century CE. Historical knowledge of the pre-Christian roots of Rabbinic Judaism, along with which early Christianity developed in the late 1st and 2nd centuries AD. C. before finally striking out on its own course, it is almost as mixed.
