Delightfully dark yet satirical

I sometimes feel like novellas are more challenging and nuanced for authors, because they have to really have their storytelling skills dialed in. Kingfisher excels in that, builds tension, yet keeps a delightfully playful edge.

I Wish I Liked It!

I want to like T. Kingfisher’s work as much as everyone else does but it so rarely speaks to me. The ideas are there but the execution (to me) is luckluster.

Stayed up all night to finish it

Though a lot of it was fairly predictable, it was still a fun read. A creepy twist on a classic story.
