I read this book in 1994, and soon afterwards gave it to my daughter, a college student, as a good introduction to thinking about philosophers. I have been using some of his descriptions, especially about Epictetus, in some of my writings ever since. It's not your average dull philosophy text. It shows some ways to actually apply these ideas to your life and thinking.
