What Is Christian Marriage?

Marriage started at the beginning of time when God made male and female (Adam and Eve). MALINDA HINRICHS in her book entitled GUARD YOUR HEART BLESS YOUR HOME states "It would seem by now in this God-given timeless institution we would have figured out how to have a beautiful married life, a good, safe and loving place where we respect and honor each other. A union where husband and wife can enjoy peace and harmony is not what is happening in most marriages in our society. Even in the Christian community, there is a horrendous lack of oneness and unity. Statistics are giving us a grievous commentary on the longevity of marriage in America", and the world at large.

A careful observation of how most marriages is practiced worldwide leaves one wondering whether God has a purpose for marriage; and whether any specific rules and regulations are guiding its practice. Did God leave the marriage institution to the discretion of tribal, family, and religious groups to do what they think fit in their own eyes? Does God approve of divorce, polygamy, and homosexuality? What type of marriage does God approve of? What are the challenges of the marriage institution? Are there any consequences for disobeying God's principles regulating marriage?

This book provides some answers to these questions and also helps Christians to understand God's principles concerning marriage.
