"What If" you could go back to your high school days and change the mistakes that might have changed your life? Larry was an athlete that had just that opportunity to correct his mistakes. When he was an adult, he was told that his father chased away all of the professional baseball scouts so his son could go to college. The problem is the son did not want to go to college. When Larry was told by his mother what his father did, he had trouble processing it. At the age of 55, he wondered "What If" he got drafted and how his life would have been different. The strangest thing happened, he was sent back in time to see if he could prove to himself that he was good enough to be drafted and if his life would have been different. I think any age could relate to "WHAT IF". Look beyond the baseball part of the book and see how the character grows as a person.
