Joy Unspeakable

Fortunately this book was written, and underscores the importance of the question posed in the title. Dr. Kennedy is living his reward, and more is certainly following after him, especially through works such as this. Anyone desiring encouragement and edification will welcome this excellent study on the continuing impact the Word of God makes on mankind. Glorifying God by focusing on His inspired Word becomes a delight for both the author and the reader. When one accepts God's own testimony that He is God and there is none else, and that no one comes to the Father except through Jesus because He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, the courage to attempt this tribute becomes plain. The closer one moves towards God through the examination of His Word the more indefinable He becomes. As His Word espouses, His Ways are past finding out. Jeremiah's proclamation that our righteousness becomes as filthy rags before God explains the challenge man fosters in striving to chronicle that which has never been. Truly, He has set His Word above His Name. A wealth of reference material is made available for the student seeking to flesh out God's work in this temporal zone. While other cultures have certainly made significant contributions toward the betterment of humankind, overall it is fair to say that the Bible and the Christian faith have been extremely influential in either directly establishing and/or greatly influencing many and various beneficial and lasting movements, trends, etc. Nonetheless, today it remains fashionable to malign and disparage the Bible and the Christian faith while simultaneously singing the praises of other, non-Christian, cultures.Personal, committed faith in Jesus Christ and a sincere, committed effort to live according to the teachings of the Bible can, will, and does greatly improve both individuals and entire societies.
