What I Wouldn't Give is a short story collection, composed of eight short stories that are themed loosely around grief, loss, and self-discovery. These stories reveal each character's struggle with functioning in a consumer-driven world, especially when tragedy strikes. For some characters, tragedy bears the form of a flat tire, or simply losing the opportunity to be featured in a company publication. For others, their tragedies are violent, jarring, and have serious impacts on their mental state, as well as affect the course of their lives. Nonetheless, the stories have some common threads, showing that, even though life is experienced in an individual sense, individual events, decisions and experiences connect us all. *While some of the stories are based on real events, this collection is fictional.
