What God Did: The Story of the Greer Christian Learning Center

This is the history of The Greer Christian Learning Center, a unique outreach offering Released Time classes to middle school students and for-credit classes to high school students. Today, more than 1,000 students who attend Greer and Blue Ridge schools attend Released Time classes weekly. The Greer Christian Learning Center's objective is to glorify God. The outreach operates entirely on faith, and has never held a fund raiser or accepted a government grant of any kind. Individuals, business firms and churches in the community have provided funds to pay staff and teachers and to build two off-campus classroom buildings valued at $700,000 each. The Greer Christian Learning Center tithes one-tenth of contributions it receives. The tithes are used to help launch Released Time programs in other communities and states, and to encourage other mission efforts to build God's Kingdom in locations at home and abroad.Several individuals who helped form the Board of Directors continue to serve twenty years later.
