What Bridge Do You Work At?: Or, Kids Are Cute; Therefore, Open Borders

Take it from a former U.S. Border agent, the work is very memorable. In his years working both the Southern and Northern U.S. borders, Andrew F. Morrison has seen it all. His recollections are his memoir What Bridge Do You Work At?The retired agent began his career in Texas and was then stationed on the Northern border during the Obama and Trump administrations. He describes his real-world experiences of arresting illegal aliens, and includes personal philosophy on immigration enforcement and criminal justice.Morrison wrote the book because "so many people do not know what is going on either at the border or with immigration. I believe a lot of the American public does not have a good idea of what the Border Patrol does, nor what it can and cannot do. Also, my reading of the books The Lessons of History by Will and Ariel Durant and War and Peace and War: The Rise and Fall of Empires by Peter Turchin leads me to the conclusion that often population migrations play a greater role in the fate of nations than do wars."(About the Author)Andrew F. Morrison grew up in Maryland. When he was 10, his father became the NASA representative to Europe, and was stationed in Paris. "Our family lived in Paris for three years during which I attended French school. We moved back to Maryland after that. I graduated from Colorado State University with a political science degree, and then later got a master's degree in Justice, Law, and Society (Criminal Justice) from American University. When I started working for the Border Patrol, I was stationed in McAllen, Texas, for the first five years of my career." He was then transferred to Northern Maine and Buffalo, New York.
