What a difference a year makes......: A heartwarming story of my transplant journey

Currently in the UK, only around 200 heart transplants are done each year. So I'm incredibly lucky. Hopefully the organ donation law change, will allow a lot more in the future.
I went from fighting fit to being at death's door within two months. To be told you're being transferred to a different hospital to get a new heart or you won't survive is devastating. But to then find out you may not be able to have one is terrifying. Days waiting for test results to see if you can be placed on the transplant list - your life hanging in the balance, and there's nothing you can do about it.
None of us know what's round the corner. But my story is a positive one and I hope it'll bring comfort to others.
