Willy is walking to school in the pouring rain. He loses his umbrella and gets soaked. But that's only the beginning of a "wet" day. Follow Willy through a series of embarrassing events at school that cause him great discomfort. Until he gets home and notices something. Will he find a way to get dry?

The story of Wet Willy is cute, a bit funny, but contains a great message to children about bullying. The book is written in prose, so it will be simple and fun to read. I like the illustrations because they look like cartoons, which I think kids will love. Willy's troubles with bullies cause him to feel anxious, afraid, and sad at school- all the things that we never want our kids to feel. However, the author turns it all around by showing how Willy uses his smarts to make the best of a bad situation. The book's message is that bullying is wrong, of course. However, through a fun story he also gives hope to those children who might be experiencing bullying themselves. A brighter day is ahead in Sunnytown. What a great story to help kids deal with bullies. Willy is constantly bullied in school, and in the course of the story, he finds a way to overcome their taunting. Willy displays perseverance and determination and also shows kids that they don't need to resort to the same unkind behavior. I especially loved the ending. I read this book smiling from beginning to end. Willy is such a fun little guy, who does not give up. He uses his creativity to work things out and they do! I like the message of kindness as well. The illustrations are colourful and really pop. Kids will relate to the school scenes and this book teaches how to approach challenging situations. Great read!---Parveen

This book is inspiring. I love how the main character, Willy, overcame a situation he once ran and hid from. Poor Willy took a bad situation and turned it into a good and profitable one. As much as I would love to give away the story, this is a great book that starts conversations on bullying, problem-solving, and entrepreneurship.---Latonya B.
