When Princess Violet vanishes from the castle, King Archibald and his wizard advisor Alaburton need a hero. What they get is Gil, a blacksmith's son who accidentally puts on a set of enchanted armor and becomes a knight whether he is ready or not.

On his first day as a hero, Gil meets Horace: a unicorn who is loud, enthusiastic, a little too optimistic, and absolutely nothing like any unicorn anyone has ever described in a fairy tale. Horace insists on coming along. Gil does not have much of a choice.

Together they will face magical creatures, unravel a curse, and stumble into more trouble than either of them is technically equipped for. They will also become the best of friends.

A perfect read for kids ages 9 to 13 who love fantasy, humor, and heroes who earn their quests the hard way. Great for fans of The Unicorn Rescue Society, Dealing with Dragons, and any story where the sidekick might actually be the bravest one in the room.

About the author: Bryan Beaunoyer created Sir Gilderlilly and Horace at age 12 for a school writing assignment in 1992. He spent the next thirty years developing this world until he finally put it all down in 2023. Book One of the Wendtmurhoefen series is the realization of a three-decade daydream.
