Phillipsburg's storied wrestling program, at the forefront of New Jersey high school wrestling for close to fifty years, has compiled an impressive list of accomplishments over the years. The Stateliners have claimed 907 wins, the second most in NJ history, captured 33 individual state titles, won 7 Star Ledger Trophies as the #1 team in the state, and been voted the best team in the state 11 times by the New Jersey Wrestling Coaches Association. The hallmarks of the program, besides its stunning success, have been its longevity and its consistency, which have served to make the program the paradigm for other wrestling programs to emulate.
