As field technicians, Garn and Imli are tasked with abducting and fixing malfunctioning humans for the Project, an ongoing experiment their species has conducted on mankind for millennia from a subterranean lunar facility. Imli's greatest wish is to be reassigned to the position of a field agent living on Earth, covertly gathering data on the human test subjects. Seizing upon an opportunity on her latest field call, Imli discovers a recently deployed device developed by a fledgling start-up company that inadvertently threatens not only the Project, but all human civilization. With Garn in tow and the help of a field agent armed with an array of special abilities named Jimmy, Imli works to neutralize the threat while evading the efforts of the U.S. Air Force to locate and capture them.
