Welcome to Idyll Bay, a fictitious coastal town in the lovely state of Virginia. Though it is small and rural it is mighty in it's stature and complex in it's simplicity. Written with insight and understanding of rural coastal life, it tells of the loves, fears and habits of the people, their co-existence with nature, their dependency on it and their fear of it; and the fragility of the human psyche.
This is a portrait of a seaside town told over the course of a year through poetry (don't let that put you off) and short stories with love, compassion and humor; at times very dark humor.
It is the story of individual people living individual lives that ultimately form a community full of characters. It is a reminder that while life can often be tough and unforgiving there is always hope.
