Flowers have captivated man's interest for years with their various colors, scents, uses and, yes, even flavors. From festivals to funerals, from celebrations to commemorations, they have been at the forefront of what we have always defined as beauty. It is with this unique backdrop I've shaped the 19 poems of "Welcome to Flowerville: Poetry from San Juan Commons." The poems themselves are not about flowers; rather, they infuse all the works, some melancholic, some tragic, giving color to the words literally and visually.
