Freaky, fun and educational!

This is a chubby, portable, kid-friendly and fascinating reference guide to all manner of odd information about food, animals, the human body, nature, sports, history, funny and outrageous lawsuits plus much more! When you indulge in that first cup of coffee in the morning you'll be glad that you are one of the select few to actually be aware that coffee is actually the first beverage "officially sanctioned by the Catholic Church!" If you've been on a diet and can't quite make the scale budge, you might be interested in knowing that a quick trip to the equator might help. The pull of gravity is far less there! In 1893, if you were in the mood for a free brandy, you only had to go to Harrods' department store in London where you could ride the first escalator in Great Britain. If the ride was disturbing to you, a company representative was waiting to calm you right down with a drink -- on the house, of course! cute info

i got this for my 9 yr. old neice as a christmas present. the facts are good, but i wish there were some illustrations for the more visually appealing facts. it's a cute stocking stuffer though.
