Wedgwood legend history

This is an enjoyable bio on Josiah Wedgwood who made a British legend and command respect globally. The author traced the style and development on the china, a long luxury import from China! Among the collection pictures, reader could find Chinese elements such as bamboo (p.70), willow pattern decoration (p.98) peony flower (p.105) in teapot and teapoy (p.117). Of interest is the style, color and simple design of the earth color in the impressed imitation Chinese teapot of the famous Yixing products (p. 8, 12). The teapot style in teapoy was a preferred collector item. The Chinese scene on teapot (p.32) was an attempt of foreign artist to render their imagination for the mysterious Orient. The China lidded vase (p.114) was Fairyland Lustre design was colorful and beautiful. The Wedgwood marks (p.122-3) help identity the different period the items were made. Reading this book enable readers to enjoy this British development and its prestige.
