Useful Resource

Webster's II: New Riverside Dictionary / 0-425-10267-X I picked this up cheaply at a used book store. It's a good dictionary, although the "pocket" moniker is a bit of a stretch - I don't think it would fit in any pockets I own, except maybe in my cargo pants. Still, it's much smaller than a "standard" sized dictionary, so maybe that's what they meant. Certainly it's very light and would fit in a backpack easily without taking much room. It seems to be very thorough and accurate - I haven't yet found and "missing" words that I needed, and the definitions are clear and concise. Some of the included words are actually surprisingly obscure (which probably contributed to the slightly-larger-than-pocket size) but I prefer to have "too many" words than too few. I recommend this, especially since it can be bought so cheaply. ~ Ana Mardoll
