Lots of info!... But maybe just a little too much

Jamsa did an excellent job of explaining the workings and architecture of the Internet in this book. Although a definite downside is the fact that he talks about HTML, CGI (mostly in PERL and a little in C), VRML, JAVA, JavaScript, and VBScript; he also discusses how to write your own browser in C and an HTML server. This all gets a bit cluttered which is really the reason why I have to knock off a few points for trying to do to much in one book. Another draw back is that C programming discussions in this book are designed for Microsoft Visual C++, myself being a Borland C++ user I was kind of disappointed.

If you're looking for a nuts and bolts look at Internet programming platforms then this book is for you. It's an easy read with solid coverage of all the major players in Internet Development.
