When the United Federation won the race to build artificial superintelligence, every other nation became obsolete. World peace followed, but at the cost of the planet.

The energy required to power a machine capable of governing humanity overwhelmed the environment. The skies turned black with carbon. Oceans rose. Forests died. The surface became toxic, and civilization fled inside sealed climate domes. Above ground, the Highlands offer curated perfection to the descendants of the original AI architects. Below them, the rest of the population dwells in overcrowded slums known as the Burrow, where human labor is no longer needed. Survival is the only job left.
