A Book Clubs Dream!!

Most people who know me, know that I'm a fan of Dow's work. She's a good writer who has a knack for creating characters and situations that make you want to pull them to the side for a very looong talk. I'm not sure exactly how the collaboration between Dow & Poole played out but I give them both much credit for a great read. At first, the premise will probably seem absurd to the average reader, but the authors give enough of the characters' history and their emotional states before unfolding a series of critical events that place them in a situation that at least, I, had no problem believing they could end up in. My wife and I had a great discussion about this book! The most animated book discussion we've had in a long time. In fact, I should take a star away from these authors for the trouble they got me in. That is because these characters are some really interesting, troubling, emotion evoking, folks. If you belong to a book club you will have a blast discussing this one. So, get the wine, cheese and the six foot sub ready, then go out and get this book.

The Grass May Be Greener

Dwight met Tracey when she was thirteen, and he was fourteen. They've been together twenty years. Dwight has a nice and secure job. He enjoys not only spoiling the women in his life, but spending time with them as well. Dwight is a rare breed. Tracey is appreciative, though sometimes she may need reminding. Dwight's job has offered him a job he can't possibly turn down. Along with it being a substantial increase in salary, he'd be able to give his family that much more. Tracey refuses to consider moving from Jacksonville. She finally has her dream home. She and the children are comfortable with their routine and she's good at her job. While she understands that Dwight's only other option would be to look for another job making less money, she's decided that's that! Selfishly Tracey has allowed Dwight to make the move alone. She's certain that she knows her husband well and he'll be unable to love them from a distance. Whenever she can, Tracey drills in Dwight's head that he needs to quit his job and come back to Jacksonville and not just for weekend visits. When Tracey sees that her words aren't being as effective she decides to up the ante and stops interacting with Dwight, treating him harshly and refusing to allow him in their home. Then she puts the icing on the cake when she tells him that she wants a divorce. Alicia works very closely with Dwight since he is her boss and she ran the department before he transferred in. Without any friends or family in Maryland, Dwight is lonely and begins to go out with Alicia and her girls. Soon Dwight and Alicia are sharing laughs, spending more and more time together and Dwight finds that Alicia and he have lots in common. With things awry with Tracey, he begins to wonder if maybe he and Tracey were ever really right for one another. Now that Alicia is in the picture, Dwight is changing. Will Tracey be able to reconcile with her husband before it's too late? Or have Alicia and Dwight taken it to the next level? `We Take This Man' is a must-read that I honestly enjoyed reading. Really great co-written title

Bestselling authors Candice Dow and Daaimah S. Poole have written a hot new book titled "We Take This Man." The premise of the book is unique. How can a man hold on to two wives at the same time? Dwight Wilson is the main male protagonist in the book. He is a software engineer and he was very happy with his beautiful wife and his family. Things change for the father of two when he is offered a big time promotion that takes him from Florida to Maryland. One would think that Dwight would bring his family to Maryland with him, but he decides to leave his wife and two daughters in Florida. It doesn't take long for temptation to interrupt Dwight's work day and personal life. The temptation arrives in the form of a female named Alicia. Dwight is attracted to Alicia both physically and career wise. He is attracted to her motivation and her drive. "We Take This Man" is an exciting book that will leave readers thinking about their own marriage. Readers surely will have a million ideas about Dwight's personal actions. The books deals with way more than the concept of cheating. "We Take This Man" is a really good book. Although the book was written by two authors, it flows seamlessly and has a good storyline pace. "We Take This Man" is a recommended read.

Three's a crowd

Tracey Wilson has a good man in her husband Dwight. Dwight is educated, makes good money, is a loving father to Jordan and Destiny and wonderful husband and provides a beautful home for his family. When Dwight is transferred from Jacksonville, Florida to Maryland by his job Tracey refuses to move with him. Dwight must take the job for the $40,000 annual salary increase. If he stays in FL he will lose $30,000 a year. Tracey wants him to stay but knows they can't afford the home or her lavish spending habits if he takes a pay cut. So Dwight moves to Maryland for the new job, while Tracey and the girls stay behind. Dwight plans to fly to Florida every weekend to be with his family. It all goes downhill from there. Dwight is occupied with work and misses some weekends, he's too busy to call at times and when is back in FL he mind is till on work. Tension grows between Tracey and Dwight and then there is Alcia. Alicia Dixon works at the company where Dwight is transferred to. At first Alcia can't stand Dwight because she feels as if he stole her position. But as time goes on Alicia and Dwight grow closer and Dwight is increasingly unhappy with Tracey and her refusal to move to Maryland. Alicia knows Dwight is married, but hey who lets there HUSBAND move to another state? That means his wife is practically giving up her man right? Alicia's been hurt before and can't help being wary of their relationship, but she also can't help falling for Dwight either. Tracey thinks Dwight will eventually come back home to her but what she doesn't know is that Dwight has started a new life in Maryland with Alicia. Dwight files for divorce and marries Alicia...still Tracey knows nothing. When Tracey finally does go up to Maryland she will get the shock of her life!!! This novel is a must read!! I have never read anything by Candice Dow, but Daaimah is one of my favorites so I gave it a try and I LOVED it!!!! This novel is a must read and explores and answers the questions, can one man truly love two women? And can those two women coexist and openly share that man?

As time goes on and Dwight realizes his marriage with Tracy is crumbling, he leans more and more towards a relationship with Alicia. Alicia finds out that she is pregnant and the whole game changes. For years, she has declared never to get married or have children. In the blink of an eye, life changes. Dwight ends his marriage to Tracey to start a new life with Alicia. Life could not get any better. That is because it got a whole lot worse. Candice Dow and Daaimah S. Poole come together for a great collaboration with We Take This Man. The story is told from the point-of -view of both women. The back and forth between the women is hilarious. The drama is never ending. The solution they come up with is unbelievable. Another book that I read in one night. You will not want to put this down. You will be on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next.
