When Nick-an underachieving, apathetic millennial-is faced with the death of his mother, he is forced to reevaluate his entire life, values and goals-or lack thereof. Due to the circumstances, his older sister, Beth, returns to town and quickly challenges him to get his life together. Her homecoming leads Nick to take the first chance he has ever taken in life, chasing after the love of his life: a screen name he has never met in person, HrTbRkR99. Nick, along with his best friends Sam and Sebastian, tries to navigate on a road trip which brings up demons, fears and desertion. Sebastian, a credit card scamming, enigmatic, new-age cowboy, is convinced that putting effort into anything is a waste of time. "We've shutdown NASA and invented the Iphone, what else is there for us to do?" Sam, a sweetheart with the potential to choose any school in the nation has found herself stuck in community college purgatory. Together, the three of them are left to confront how being a part of the YouTube Generation has molded them-or ruined them.
